About Rita
Hi there! I am so happy you’re here! Sometimes, finding the best match for therapy can be an overwhelming and defeating experience. I’d like to help make that process easier for you! I believe in the transformative power of play therapy and am committed to walking alongside my clients with warmth, acceptance, and honesty. Play is also a natural form of expression for children, allowing them to communicate in a way that’s developmentally appropriate for them. The therapeutic relationship built in sessions will be the foundation that sets the tone for all the hard work we do, which is why I emphasize starting with a Child-Centered approach. Though not every child is the same! Once the therapeutic relationship has been established, I pivot toward a more tailored approach that suits the needs of your child.
Rita is a compassionate and hard working Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) being supervised by Dr. Monique Raack Rahman, PhD, LPC-S, RPT™, NCC. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University-Victoria in August of 2025 and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art-Ceramics from Texas Tech University in May of 2022.
Rita has a background of working with children from daycares, the foster system, as well as counseling. She typically sees clients aged 3-12 years and their parents or guardians.
Some common themes she has experience with are anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, life adjustments, self-esteem, peer-influence, and separation anxiety. She is keen on listening to your concerns and working together to help pave the way and making this journey as meaningful as possible for you and your child. She is currently working toward full licensure as well as becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT™).
